I really feel like this comic shows where I’m beginning to get the hang of illustrating species I may not have drawn before. However, I’m feeling really frustrated at how crappy my scanner is, especially the constant shadows on the margins. I also need to really improve my handwriting. But I’m very happy with how the drawing itself turned out; that’s the best scrub jay I’ve ever drawn, and for my first Douglas squirrel that’s a pretty nice job, too. I also want to be sure you all noticed the garter snake with the soda can tab around her tail, because she’s doing her very best!

Species portrayed: Anna’s hummingbird (Calypte anna), California scrub jay (Aphelocoma californica), coyote (Canis latrans), painted turtle (Chrysemys picta), common garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis), Douglas squirrel (Tamiasciurus douglasii), snowshoe hare (Lepus americanus)
